In his letter to the Colossians, new Christians, Saint Paul writes to refute a heresy 
that is going around.  He never explicity describes the nature of this fase teaching, 
but to acheive this goal Paul "exalts" Christ as 

 the very image of God.

 Christ is the Creator.

 He is the prexistent sustainer of all things.

 Christ is the head of the Church..

 He is the first to be resurrected.

 He is the fullness of the diety in bodily form.

 Christ is the reconciler.
